Default New felpro intake manifold gasket design

Couple weeks ago I noticed my long-term fuel trim on one bank was at 15%. The other one was at 4%. While it idled okay, it wasn't perfect by any means. 121,000 miles.

Decided to try the newer Fel-Pro intake manifold gasket. It actually has a metal frame, held in place by two of the smaller cylinder head bolts, and the actual gasket material is close to double the thickness of the OEM.

Fel-Pro MS 98016 T

Been running around in it for a week now, checked long-term fuel trim numbers. Both banks are right about 5%. Short-term fuel trim numbers are hovering around 0 to 1%.

And it's never idled so smooth. Would definitely recommend next time you have your intake off

Thank you, nice to see an upgraded part. I have always had good luck with Fel Pro.

Nice. I can't remember what brand I used when I did mine but same result. Looked like an exact copy of oem though and it was from auto zone.

Have had these on since July 2023 (I clicked link and it showed my purchase date - lol) - Highly recommend also. Think many will end up needing these on their way to resolve knock sensor issues & having to remove to gain access..... (should you end up doing knock sensors - do NOT go cheap & use a torque wrench- if not the SECOND time you do it, days later, will go faster .......

On The 2008 and 2009 H2's the Knock Sensor is on the outside rear bottom of the block. Already replaced both as only on went. Put the GM originals in. That is a Job on the under the intake models. I feel for you guys.

Fel-Pro MS 98016 T

Been running around in it for a week now, checked long-term fuel trim numbers. Both banks are right about 5%. Short-term fuel trim numbers are hovering around 0 to 1%, especially after installing the best intake horn for 6.7 Cummins.

Glad to hear it worked so well! Sounds like that Fel-Pro MS 98016 T gasket really fixed the uneven fuel trims and improved your idle. Definitely seems worth recommending.
