Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Default My H2 Build Plan

I've owned my H2 for 18 years+ now and it's been through hell and back. It's currently my daily, and short commutes. 100% stock. During the years I've had many wear & tear damages and repairs. I recently swapped the rear bags to coils after having failed airbags/compressor over and over...I installed temporary GM coils on the current shocks, until I find the right shocks to upgrade, and surprisingly It rides so much more comfortable..shocks are great.. so then I began thinking of revamping the car, nothing crazy and pricey, just make it look better & a little more aggressive.

For now, I'm looking to upgrade "looks" , add a bit more aggressiveness without going overboard on spending as I still have 2 other active car projects lol. 24 hours ago, I had zero intentions of buying new wheels now, so part of the look upgrade was to settle with paining the factory wheels and slap on spacers.. until I came across the Black Rhino Primms ...here's the list:
  • 52" Roof Light bar - Single row (Lasfit w/ wiring harness)
  • Spare tire rack - looking for some used locally
  • LED Headlights - so far
    these these
  • LED DRLs - (
    NJSBYL NJSBYL
    )
  • LED Tails - (
    AmeriLite AmeriLite
) or might go with Anso but sticking to budget lol
  • Turn signal cover -
    This This
  • H&R DRM Spacers - was going for 30 or 40mm but after recalculating for new wheels.. might opt out
  • Wheels: Black Rhino Primm 17x9 ET0 / BS 5" (keeping 315/70 & might upgrade to 37x12.5 later)
Question, I now know that this 17x9 wheel will push out the wheels about 12"+ out, can i still get away with spacers to further push the tires out? what max mm spacer can i go with?

I'll also repaint the front chrome grille, and lower bumper to Gloss Black. I have a habit of Photoshopping parts on my cars to visualize before placing orders..fyi my photoshop skills suck lol I know not proud of it but does the job! (before and render photos)

The only thing I would suggest is considering something other than a 17" wheel. Tires are some what limited for 17". Spacers require longer wheels studs and are somewhat undependable in my opinion, you would also need hubcentric spacers for the H2 and the further out your wheels go the more stress you will put on the hub bearings and other suspension parts.

These are pics of my old H2. Black grill that I paitend with plasti dip, it lasted a long time and the wheels were 20X12 -44. I thought they were perfect.

Because its my daily, and tires are new I prefer sticking to 17s + comfort. So going with 9.5”, 0ET & 5” bs will only push the poke out by 24mm.. barely anything. And im looking for more aggressiveness look.. just thinking if i go with like 0.5-1” spacers (hub) like the H&R, is that possible?

heres how my stock sticks out now

Only thing I will add that you do not want to hear..... 99% of the 7" LED Chinese headlights are complete garbage with horrible beam patterns, tons of glare that blind everyone else on the road, and trash quality and will fail in under a year. LED bulbs on stock headlights are also terrible. Multiple threads on here about headlights. Good quality name brand ones will cost well over $200 for a pair with some of the top ones running well over $500 for a pair. You get what you pay for. Another many run into with LED's in the tails and turns are hyperflashing, cruise control failing (since it monitors resistance in the brake lighting circuits for certain functions), etc. and again the vast majority are Chinese garbage that also fail quickly and turn into disco lights as they start failing. Again, name brand ones from places light The Retrofit Source, Diode Dynamics, etc will cost a lot more but be a lot less headaches. I think there might be an off the shelf flasher relay that is designed for LED's that will prevent hyperflashing when using LED's in the turns signals. Other like to add in a resistor (which gets extremely hot).

The painted or plasti-dipped stock wheels look just as good as the aftermarket wheels to me. Your photoshop skills are pretty good.

Wheels over headlights IMO. Get the cheap ones until they fail and f other drivers, they already think you're a douchebag in the hummer anyway lol.

Consider doing body color on the front grille. It will go great with the black brush guard. And a ceramic coating will do wonders on the black plastics, no need to paint them. It makes them like new again and last for quite a while.

So I did the opposite of what I planned.. ended up ordering wheels & cheap out on the lights lol. So yes Gavin, Wheels over lights haha. here's what I ended up with:
  • Wheels: Black Rhino Primm (17x9), I requested to replace the brass bolts with black. ETA delivery mid-Feb. (render photo below)
  • Light bars: Lasfit 52" roof & 32" grille
    generic generic
  • Headlights: generic amazon inc. H4 to 9007 adapter-
    Link Link
  • Fogs: generic amazon also -
    Link Link
  • Spare tire carrier: still looking in junk yards, cause shipping that part to me will cost prob 2x

render Primm wheels
