Loose drivers side mirror, rust issues...
Machine is a 2004
Anybody else having problems with loose sidemirror fittings, and how to fix it? My drivers side housing I can feel play in it. When driving down the road, I get vibration, making it VERY annoying!
Also, I have some rust on the rear bumper, and on both sides of the rear quarterpanels. I assume i will just have to live with the quarterpanels, but is there anyway to make the rear bumper look decent without dropping a lot of coin (yeah, I know, that and Hummer don't go in the same sentence)
Only other thing that bothers me is the oxidation of the paint where it looks like water ran out from under the fuel cover, and the sidemarker chrome. I haven't taken it to a detailer yet, but I'm hoping those can be buffed out???
I will try to get some pics up, so you can see what I'm talking about.
Rust on rear quarterpanel & oxidation. This is drivers side. Passenger side is still there, but you can feel it, it's gonna do the same thing
Oxidation
Bumper rust
And what the hell is this "grill gaurd"? Is this aftermarket? The finish is flaking off, and looks like hell
Obviously, those are the bad parts. From a distance, it still looks really nice

yes that guard is aftermarket-ebay chrome probably. Should just come right off. As for as all the rust I would get those spots taken care of before it gets any worse. The more the rust spreads the more it will get under the pain and flake it off. Those spots need to be cleaned of the rust and repainted or at least primered to protect the bare metal from the elements.
Fortunately I bought my 06 about a year ago in AZ and it originally came from Cali so just a few very small spots of rust in areas you wouldn't even know to look.
Truck looks good though!

Not sure on previous owners, but here in Indiana, we get out fair share of snow, resulting in salt

Can anyone tell me from the GM parts diagram what part this is that has the rust on it? It would be below the plastic bumper with the HUMMER logo on it. It's the solid steel piece that the Tow hooks are mounted onto...
