Default Looking at buying an H2

Okay guys/gals, I'm new here. What is some advice when looking at 03-05 H2. Looking to purchase a used one.
What are some major things to look for .
What are the main problems with this model.
How well do they tow a 5,000 lb travel trailer
And lastly should I buy one?

I would shoot for an 06 first, a number of small issues were resolved after the initial 03-05 run.

That being said you are still looking at a vehicle going on 13 years old, most being high mileage. The H2 specific parts such as interior pieces are all but dried up. They can be found but you will pay hundreds of dollars for some pieces. Drivetrain is pretty bulletproof but again the front diff is H2 specific and can become costly. Unless you are willing to put and continually put money into a rig and wrench on your own or pay a mechanic I would advise against it. Many members ask if they should buy one. That is up to you and your patients with putting up with H2 gremlins. I am not going to type a massive page of info on those issues, they are all plentiful around this site by searching.

Best of luck and if you go through with the deal post up some pics for us to see! Welcome to the forum as well.

I have an '08 and tow with it. I settled on the '08/09 b/c it has the bigger motor and 6 speed tranny. I won't tow anymore w/o something w/ at least 6 gears. Our TT is about 4k lbs, it does fine but you have to put in the external tranny cooler and run high octane to keep the things cool.

Default The one

Well, we found "the one." It is a 2004 H2 with only 64,000 miles .it was garage kept and covered. The pictures look great. Headed to go look Sunday! Any advice on what to look over would be greatly appreciated. It's the limited edition too!
