I Drove my hummer H2. Got home put car in park. Key will not come out of ignition nor will it start the vehicle again I have a new battery, lights come, but radio does not. I removed shifter cover and checked wires no problem there. Car shifts into neutral and rolls but steering wheel and tires will not turn. I Wiggled key, shifter, steering wheel no luck. What can I try next. Can it be a fuse or bad ignition switch? Please help. Thank you

 

look at your cluster and make sure it actually says you are in the gear you have selected as in park actually being park in relation to the shifter...
if not your shift cable bushing at the transmission range selector lever has probably disintegrated on you.

 

Exactly. I bought a spare bushing on ebay, and now carry it in the vehicle. Sooner or later….

Likely never now that I am prepared. Bailing wire will get you home also, and great for broken dangling exhaust systems.
