INOP rear hatch lock
Curiosity got me to check and discovered that my cargo door, Rear hatch door does not lock. Wondering how many others have the same issue and not know it? I am going to install a rod so i can lock it or unlock it manually. even after repaired
No need to make any modifications. Just replace the locking mechanism. It's super cheap and very easy. You can find these mechanisms on ebay for as low as $10, and they work, because I've personally bought one and was impressed by the value https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rear-Liftga....c100012.m1985
I ordered one of them Thanks for the info! but being non OE i will still add a pull to unlock wire. someone mentioned theirs broke in the locked position and pulling the panel with door closed and locked was a pain.

I dont know why GM did not add a hidden manual release. They did on some other SUV's like the small Blazers - you peel back the carpet in one spot in the middle of the panel and there is 3/4" wide rectangle hole in the panel and you can stick a screwdriver in and push the latch to manually release it.
