How much is too much frame/undercarriage rust?

Mine has the same thing, but its all light surface rust....not rotting rust. It looks like crap, but other than that its not structural. Im getting mine coated soon. The place thats coating it said the GM trucks and SUV's in this year range were all prone to this.

Are you going to do the coating yourself or are you taking it somewhere? About how much ballpark is that going to run?

So I ended up going with a different Hummer (still a 2003) as it came 99% the way I wanted it set up, and even better the frame is completely rust free...so no worries with that. She sure is a nice ride, i absolutely love it!

Thanks, I really appreciate you hooking me up with that. I found out that the driver side mirror isn't folding. Are they fused separately? I have much to learn, I came from a F-150 to this...giant bus.

They tend to fail....... there are a few posts on here about removing and repairing them. Many replace them with the newer style ones but they are crazily expensive, as are many of the parts for an H2 as you will discover. lol
