Thanks for this great post!! I went ahead and decided for a diy solution as well since all my 4 markers were not working.
I already fixed my front ones and it took me about 30 mins each. Cutting the market open was kind of a pain.
In my case, I could not find the 4 pin original led and decided to go with a regular 2 pin led ( I leave in a “remote” area in Panama ).
By the way, I was assuming that both leds in each marker were bad, instead it turns out that even if only one is bad, they both won’t work.
This is not a high intensity led but it will do until I get the right ones in the mail. For both front side markers, only one led wasn’t working. This is the easiest thing to do to check which one isn’t working... After removing the original one, I soldered the new one and bent it to make it fit. The original one is slightly brighter Once installed you can barely see the difference
