Default H2 Side Marker ($6 dollar light bulb fix/mod)

I've searched on google for a write up or mod regarding the side markers and a low cost fix, and could not find anything. maybe i missed it, but here's my version if anyone wants the info. the new sealed units are $60 and up from what i'm seeing on the fourms.

i started by opening the side marker using a hacksaw, a dremel would work too im sure but mine is not working.

Next i de-soldered the led bulb, it has 4 contacts on it, so you have to get all the old solder off really good and work the bulb off.

Part numbers from radio shack

Red LED bulb $2.99 eachModel: 276-020

Diode i used $1.99 pack Zener Diode

Good job, nice write up. Definitely cheaper than buying a new one.

Nice. I have mine simply tinted. That's about the only mod to my side markers.

Did you tape the wires from the side marker back? I need a new driver side marker, mine is flicking.
