I am trying to remove the factory rock rails from my H2 so I can have them powder coated. The bottom bolts are not hard to get to. The top ones are nearly impossible. I can get my ratchet on them from above but it doesn't leave me any room to move at all. Does anyone have any tricks for getting these undone? Any suggestion for the right tool for the job? Thanks!

 

I answered my own question. The tightest space is the top bolt on the connection nearest to the front of the vehicle. An extension on my ratchet bit was enough to get the room I needed.

In conclusion, the space around and above the top bolt on each connection varies, but a ratchet with a removable extension should be sufficient for all 5 connection points.
