h2 new brake line
I have a general question...I have a broken brake line running from front left to the abs pump...places I've taken it two or asked about working on it say they cant ...mentioned it has to be a body separating job and suggest bringing it to a dealership (which i know they will charge the price of a new car)
does anyone know if its possible to replace that line without going all through that hassle..I felt the line it seems easy to get to

it's not a walk in the park but it is doable in place. but if one is already bad the rest will be following shortly. also the top of the fuel pump probably needs an inspection as they also rot about the time brake lines start going. search the forum..... there have been many recent threads on the subject.
I just re-did all my brake lines in stainless. I didn't lift the cab, but I had the fuel tank out to redo my fuel pump, since it had rotted out. I suggest you check that also, and do both at same time. I read many people running into issues when trying to lift the cab as the bolts snapped
thank you both (mcu and bronxtech)...I also seen a youtube where the guy only separated it to do the rear lines but said he really only did it to get the camera under to show the layout and I just had the fuel pump changed (by the same garage who couldn't do the lines because he didn't want to snap the bolts.
I'm going to go for it ..I had ordered stainless lines so there ready to go....fingers crossed....worst come to worst....dealership here she comes

Can I echo, removing the gas tank will help you lots, you can also inspect your FPM at the same time. Again there is a YT video on this...
Because its a huge truck, any shop/dealer will charge you absurd amount of money. In another post someone was quoted over 4k for an entire break job. He was quoted over 800 in parts (yeah right) and over 3.5k in labor, whoa. I spent under 400 bucks on stainless lines, master cylinder, fluid. Took a few days but I rather do that myself, save money and then reward myself.
if you are not in a position to do this yourself, I would definitely hit up a lot of shops and get quotes. Reviews could also help in choosing a place for the job.
good luck.

I just finished up my SSTUBES replacement. All 6 metal and 6 flex hoses. It would be much easier to do it with the body raised, but it is doable as is. Just remove LF,RF &LR inner fenders and front bumper. The vapor canister, vent and left step/rock rail. The lines are prebent, but not exact. After I vacuum bled the system. (I also installed a new master cylinder). When you get everything back together, drive it. Apply the brakes a few times REALLY HARD to cycle the ABS pump. Then bleed again until the pedal feel right. I missed the last step due to stress of getting the truck ready and moving out of my house.
My advice, watch the video above but instead of lifting the body to connect the rear lines, drop the fuel tank instead. At the same time inspect the fuel pump because unless it's been changed recently it too is likely suffering from corrosion.
