H2 LIMO power steering upgrade?
Hello,
I've got a H2 140" limo and used to run stock wheels and tires.
Now i got 22" wheel with road tires.
When the car is not moving it's not possible to turn the steering wheel (only a couple of degrees left and right)
People (and the internet) tell me its the weight of the car thats causing the problem. Ok, but what can i do to fix it?
I already bolted on a new pump (acdelco reman.) but no difference.
Is there a valve in the Hydroboost that is keeping the flow away from the steering box? (if so can i tweak this?)
I also thought of bolting on an extra pump.
This can be connected parallel to the original pump (pressure tube going to hydroboost) but is there is a valve issue, this wont work...)
Or can u bolt this pump on and connect it straight to the steering box.
I also have a H3 140" limo with 20" wheels and there is no steering issue.
I would really appreciate your feedback.
Sorry for my English, as i come from Belgium, Europe.

Je engels is bijna net zo goed als mijn nederlands haha
Those 22 inchers, how wide are they?
Previously I had 37 inchers on mine and they were 355mm wide. I had issues with the hydrobooster. It would sometimes cause the steering wheel not wanting to move at all. I gues the total weight of the wheel, together with the extra wide footprint would cause too much stress on the hydrobooster
I went back to 35 inch and 325 wide and never had any trouble since.
So yes I think you have a hydro booster overload. Maybe they sell a more beefy one?

The 22" are 355 wide.
The total weight of the limo is to much.
I put the original wheels and tires back on the limo today.
It's better but not completely cured.
I need someone that knows his way around this to tell me if i can connect a pump straight to the steering box. I can try it myself but it will save me a lot of work if it turn out that i need the valve in the hydroboost to regulate the flow and pressure to the box...
Thx in advance.
