Default H2 - changing to glass headlight lens?

Wondering if anyone has changed the 7” headlights from the polycarbonate to glass? I see a bunch of places selling 7” housings and referencing H2’s but assuming just a generic listing….. haven’t taken apart the original H2 housing so just asking before going down this path….. thinking the clear glass may look better than the polycarbonate… I do understand I can polish these to bright again, but again - wondering if anyone has gone to glass? Post pics and any info if you have. They sell the complete glass & housing for pretty cheap (can be found under $50 fairly easily) just wondering if it’s an easy swap to the H2 headlight mount…..Thanks in advance!

I can't answer your question about the glass headlights, but I just did a ceramic restore kit on mine last weekend, they're original and never been restored in 21 years until now. I was pleased with the results

Looks great!! Pulled the driving lights and did them off the vehicle (literally takes 5 minutes - just two 10mm nuts holding each). Your post seems to be the path of least resistance & they look great.

@hummer_on_fumes Let us know what Kit you used?? I was going to use some Meguiars PlastX Polish on mine... I used PlastX on my son' Focus lenses with an orbital polisher and it worked very well.

CERAKOTE® Ceramic Headlight Restoration Kit
On Amazon
Didn't require using a buffer, just sanding
I can't speak to the longevity of it yet

I switched mine to the TruckLite Phase 7 headlamps years ago. Still look and work great.

FYI for those that really want to keep the headlights looking good -- Xpel sells a pre-cut PPF kit for the H2 lights, primarily to protect against rock chips. They fit perfectly and are relatively easy to install.

The headlight kit includes the driver lights for $50+.

Follow this link and search for your H2 model and year.
