Fluid separation Build Thread

You can also look for Champion radiators. I ended up with an aluminum 4 core from Amazon that I am extremely happy with. I eliminated the oil cooler and lines since they are prone to leak anyway. My transmission guy talked me out of removing the transmission cooler. He stated that water to fluid cools much better than fluid to air so it would benefit the transmission to keep the factory style cooler in the radiator. The way my new one was built, I had no fear of the two fluids mixing. I'm in Florida and even on the hottest of days sitting in traffic water temp and trans temp are cool.

New All Aluminum Radiator for Cadillac Escalade/Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe/GMC Sierra, Yukon/Hummer H2
It was absolutely prefect and fit like a glove. The entire side tank is where the transmission is cooled, unlike the factory one which is plastic with a separate cooler inside the cap. If you look at my old posts, I took a pic of new versus old side by side and you can see how much thicker this core is.Tim
