Exterior lights wire routing
Hey guys, I wanting to hang some Cree offroad lights on my expedition rack to light up terrain on the sides of the truck. I've had great luck with that brand on my RZR. The question is what is the best route off the roof to get to a power source without engineering leaks or making it look like a jeffed-up mess. Has anyone ever routed wires under the plastic windshield trim?
Run them though the drain hole for the corner marker lights, take the outside cover off the A pillar and go underneath that, then snake them through behind the fender (you can get easy access taking the vent thing off) then into the engine. Here's a video that helped me when I ran my lights:

I ran the cable to the side black pilar on the outside all the way down you can also feed the cable on the side marker light and remove the inside pilar run the cable down under the steering wheel and there should be a way to the engine bay .
I FAILED MISERABLY ON THE VIDEO THAT I POSTED about my lights install . I have to redo the video .

So considering the 4 across the front of the rack, would you guys use 2 pencil beam KC's and 2 spread beams or should I buy all pencil beams for those to really see down the trail and get the wide angle lighting from different pods?
I would go LED unless that's what you're talking about. I haven't messed with KCs since back in the day (long time ago). Halogens will require much larger wiring due to the amperage they pull compared to LED bars/rounds.
Hell even when I bought my H2 I had initially put halogens on my roof rack then a few years later eventually upgraded to LED bars. I use all amazon LED bars/lights. The hell with name brand stuff which is rarely built in the USA. You know damn well components are all from China and just assembled here. Off my soap box, if you buy cheaper LEDs just make sure to seal where the wire comes out and around the lens to keep then water tight. I've never had issues with all the LEDs I run after doing that.
