Door ajar message after replacing door lock actuators
I installed new door lock actuators on drivers side front and rear doors this afternoon. All works well now.
Or so I thought... I stepped out this evening to go fill the tank and noticed the interior courtesy lights were on. When I cranked the truck and put it into gear I noticed “DRIVER DOOR AJAR” displays on dash and interior courtesy lights stay on due to the false positive of a door being open. I found some old posts on this subject but am hoping someone has some new ideas before I pull the door apart again this weekend. I’m going to check all the connections between the power window/door lock panel and the seat adjust/window panel and the new actuator of course, but if anyone has some other things to check please pass along.
Thanks!

Prior history history will help with the diagnosis.
So a few questions:-
I seem to recall alignment issues with the mechanism, even though there is no "free-adjustment" so it may be worth checking everything works before fully re-assembling the door.
Hopefully you will get it sorted, please keep us posted..
So a few questions:-
- What were the reasons for changing the actuator?
- Did you fit a "brand new" actuator?
- Do you have the P/No's for the old one and the new one?
- Has there been any issues with the DDM? (Driver's Door Module)
- Were there any mechanical/electrical issues when fitting the replacement?

- What were the reasons for changing the actuator? - Driver side front and rear door actuators were no longer functioning. Replaced both, starting with rear. That one worked fine. Replaced the front and got drivers door ajar messages sporadically making me think I had a short or perhaps a defective actuator.
- Did you fit a "brand new" actuator? - Yes, but turns out the replacement was defective. Got another new replacement and swapped it out this morning and so far all is well.
- Do you have the P/No's for the old one and the new one? - Old is gone with today’s trash and new is now in door. But they are confirmed fitment. Going to send the first (defective) replacement back.
- Has there been any issues with the DDM? (Driver's Door Module) - None thankfully.

Looks like I had a bum replacement unit and the second one was the fix. Again, thanks for the quick response. Lots of good info on this forum!!!
