Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Default Climate control center question

Hello all,
2004 Hummer H2 155000 miles. Drove my Hummer the other day in the cold Northeast so I warmed the car a bit before leaving. I noticed several miles later that the heat was not coming out the vents as usual. The fan was set to high. I came to notice that none of my buttons worked. I could not power off the climate control unit, could not change fan direction, could not turn the air on, no defrost no anything. I'll try pulling the fuse to try to reset but I'm thinking that the module will need to be rebuilt. Anyone have any other direction or solutions?
Thank you in advance,

Kevin

Dorman 599015 part number on rockauto.com
$355 +$100 core charge for a remanufactured one. Otherwise you can look on eBay for a used one.
keep In mind it has to be specifically for a 2004 hummer h2. Even though ones for other trucks might look the same, they are not programmed and will not work with the truck. That is my understanding at least. I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong.

Thank you both for the response. I am sourcing one from a local junkyard so this is good to know. Thank you. The yard does not have any hummers but is looking at Escalades. Should I stick with the same model year at least?

I guess if they look the same. I’d stick with the same year at least if you can and give it a try if you can get a deal on it.

Ok so I found one at my local you pull it from a 2006 Envoy. Looks exactly the same. Took it home and installed it and it whirled into action. Turned the heat up and let it warm up. Came back 10 minutes later and blowing cold air. I saw the readout defaulted to exterior temp. Set it to 90 degrees and full fan. Within 2-3 seconds it defaulted to exterior temp.. My question can it be flashed for my 2004 Hummer H2? Or is there a procedure to have the module "relearn" its new environment?
Thanks for any help,

Kevin

Or more likely, Does anyone know of a person or company that refurbishes these units? That way I can keep my original Hummer part intact.

Thanks Bronx. Mine is stamped made in China... wtf. Previous owner aftermarket I guess. And I may just have picked up a bad one from the junk yard. Does anyone now what the original part number is/ was?
