A trick I learned many years ago was to use a 50/50 mix of Super Clean and water in a spray bottle. Spray everything down, let sit for about 5 min and hose off. After it dries completely spray down everything with Armor All and leave it. When all the excess white spray settles in it makes everything look brand new. The only bad thing is if spraying a really strong mixture it will make aluminum parts oxidized and hoses will loose some of their lacquer coating leaving them with a white haze. The Armor All masks all of this. I usually clean it one day and spray down everything else the following day and let it sit.

Being old school, still like Gunk.

Warm up the engine. Spray on the Gunk degreaser.

Leave on for for a few moments,

Hose it off.... Brilliant !

I would worry about knock sensor issues after an engine cleaning session.

i use a pump up sprayer like a weed/ bug one. it gives control of what you want to clean.

That cannot be over stressed..... This exact situation happened to me on my last H2... $400 later I would take the above statement seriously unless you have already spent approx $400 replacing the knock sensors, wiring and making the :"dam".

I’d be very cautious about hosing off the engine area especially all the electrical parts and connections. I generally use a spray and a rag to wipe areas clean. Takes a lot longer.
