Default Best F/R Brake Rotors & Pads

Looks like new front rotors+pads, rear rotors+pads and parking brake shoes are needed.

Theres so are many types available, does anyone have any reccommendations for suplliers and brands.

I see Rockautos sell complete kits (except parking brake shoes) such as POWER STOP KOE2023 are these OK or should I go for something better?

I prefer ceramic pads & drilled rotors.

I installed Powerstop Z36 rotors and pads on my 96 Z71 and they have improved braking considerably.

i would us Power Stop products on the H2 without hesitation

Just about any ceramic pads will probably be just fine I also agree that Power Stop is top notch, EBC is also and excellent brand. The kit you linked should be perfectly fine but the upgraded kit legerwin mentioned would be even better yet but is $200 more expensive. You do get drilled/slotted rotors and their best pads though. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...4194&jsn=12773

They also have a middle level kit which is the better rotors and middle grade premium ceramic pads. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...4194&jsn=12770

The parking shoes are what they are. If you pull one of the rear rotors you might find that yours are still okay and just need adjusting but they are not terribly expensive to go ahead and add onto an order anyways. For typical street vehicles though, regular solid rotors are realistically just fine and the lower cost kit will be just fine. The guy I got my H2 from had bought a full set of "Prime Choice" drill/slotted rotors and ceramic pads. Online reviews for Prime Choice auto parts are not all that good but they do seem to be just fine so far and they look cool since they are drilled/slotted but my own reading over the years has shown that drilled and/or slotted does not really make a big difference in real world typical street vehicles. Supposed to help with trapped gases, debris, and heat fade. "Prime Choice" seems to be sold on Amazon and eBay, if I were buying myself Prime Choice is not the brand I'd have gone with but since they are on mine and seem to work fine they will be staying on...

EBC pads are a great upgrade, for stock replacements I like the Wagner Thermoquiet. Most replacement rotors are such poor quality, I prefer to turn the stock ones if possible.

The only time I ever had brake issues stopping while towing was when I put non-OEM pads/rotors on a car. I've always been quite happy w/ the H2 OEM gear. That would be my vote. Mine is an '08 if that makes a difference.

So summarizing the POWER STOP front+rear kits
  1. KOE2023 costs £173.82 / $225.89
  2. Evolution Geomet® CRK2023 costs £182.98 / $237.79 **
  3. Z23 K2023 costs £302.25 / $392.79
  4. Z36 K202336 costs £327.65 / $425.79
Evolution Geomet® CRK2023 I've set as my base as it carries EVO rust preventative coating, here in the UK we put salt on the roads during winter, a real killer for brake lines and brakes (and chrome plated alloy wheels)

Z36 K202336 look superb but as I only do 5K miles a year, with no towing, no lift, standard wheels and no power modifications its probably an overkill.

Z23 K2023 is an additional $155 (£120) which is not too much extra, they look great, however is the Silver Zinc Dichromate plating as good as the EVO and are the drilled & slotted rotors worth it?

So its a choice between Z23's Silver Zinc Dichromate plating Drilled and Slotted Rotors Vs Evolution Geomet® EVO rust prevention.

Which way should I go?

You only drive 5k miles a year? How does that change the fact that there will always be someone that will pull out in front of you, or lock up their brakes for any given reason? Do you ever compare the weight you're traveling in, compared to the other vehicles on the streets around you?
Brakes are the most important parts of a vehicle to prevent an accident!
You can cut an expense, on parts for your rig, don't on the brakes!
IMO, You have 2 choices to restore the braking ability on your H2:
1: Replace the calipers, pads, and rotors.
2: Replace the pads with ceramic, and improve the rotors that dissipate the heat better to reduce the braking distance.
All 4 brake pads and rotors replacement at a shop can cost $1,200.00usd, yet you have the ability to replace them yourself, therefore you are saving a lot on the markup and labor, don't try and add more discount for your safety.
GL on whatever you choose.
