Been nice knowing you all.
Not sure if it's a hummer replacement but I bought a 2015 tundra 1 year ago, my first pickup truck which I thought suv or nothing, until I drove the tundra, 5.7 runs like scalded dog, cab room is awesome, I think the 5.7 runs through 2021, I still have my 03 h2 as well, just an idea
You will be back... I have done the same 3 times (on my 4th H2). First time was in 2007. I have owned many many vehicles including many exotics, only vehicle I keep going back to is the H2. Nothing really keeps me "content". Literally will be approaching 20 years old in the next year or so- still keeps me happy, gets compliments & satisfies whatever "itch" one can have for a vehicle.... sure you have to maintain it as the years pass- but if you stay on maintenance its dependable. Advice as always, buy one from a "salt free" state. Road salt absolutely destroys underneath. Hope to see your next "new to you" H2!! You will be back, as many of us. Not much out there that you can buy anywhere near what a clean southern maintained H2 costs... Hell, change colors- but you will be back!! its in your soul now!!
@Chrmer3
My situation is a bit different.
My H2 was a Special Edition in showroom condition, so not a chance in Hell that I would find another or go back for a lesser one.
Someone stole it at the price I sold it for. (I can't believe that nobody lurking on this site wanted it.) To replace it would cost double.
Plus life is short, so I always go forward and never look back.
The only reason I dealt with H2 drama for 18 years was because it is so special (exotic), and could not be replaced. I truly understand your love of the H2!
But GMs utter hate for owners of anything gas Hummer-related, lack of parts, lack of GM tech tools in their shop which talk to the H2, and lack of GM service guys that know how to work on old Hummers (for work that I can not do) is what drove me away. Plus, as I get older, my enthusiasm for DIY repairs is waning.
But you are correct and so is @Mark R , I WILL be back. But there is a big "If"
If/when GM comes to their senses and brings out another Hummer in either gas or hybrid. (there are a hundred Hummer EVs sitting on lots where I live, and nobody wants them. Duh, of course not).
Preferably one smaller, like H3 sized, that will fit into a smaller garage. Smaller houses come with shorter and lower garages, and I want to downsize.
Love the Hummer look, there really is nothing else like it. Fingers crossed.
