Been nice knowing you all.
Signing off after 18 years. Our restored H2 has been sold to very nice Hummer people.
I could write pages about my Hummer experience, but I will keep it short. I can not express all my sincere gratitude to all of you that are active on this site, after 99% of the people left. Bronxtech, Oceanbrave, and others have been most helpful and generous with diagnostic answers to questions. If I did not mention your name, it is just for the sake of brevity. Many on here are valued. What would I have done without you? If you go back and read some of my 800+ posts, you too may find useful info there, as I helped out as much as time allowed.
And we must not forget Hummerz, who is here to just provide comic relief and occasional nonsense, but somehow manages to occasionally and accidentally smatter it with actual useful help, LOL! But he is here, and that is to be commended. Stick together on this forum. Still the last best one on the internet.
Thanks to Doc Olds for keeping this site going, seemingly by himself. Thanks to the site owner for keeping the site up and not shutting it down, even with such little page visits compared to the Hummer heydays.
Wishing all the Best to you Hummer people.
PS> GM needs to wake up and produce an H3 Hybrid, and an H2 Hybrid, to satisfy a void. Then I would see you again here.

Just cause you don't have your truck anymore don't mean you can't stop by and visit
As mentioned, hopefully you'll get the twitch again and find another H2

Looking for a Hummer replacement. (Picked up a Hemi Jeep Grand Cherokee to drive till that happens).
Hoping that GM makes a Hummer hybrid. Maybe a smaller gauge, like the H3.
Looked the Defender, G-Wagon, Ineos Grenadier, some Jap Scrap, and just about every other SUV out there.
The Bronco came the closest, but no memory seats and massive whistling wind leakage off the roof panels at highway speeds killed that idea. Make it a hardtop with a sunroof and put in memory seats, and I will buy one immediately, despite it being a Ford.
Really want a V8, as even the supercharged V6 are pretty gutless on torque.
The V8 Defender came closest in being Hummer-like inside, but at a massive nosebleed price tag.
And it is a buggy British Rover vehicle with worst service record of any brand out there. But gee, it does look pretty once you put on some real, offroad tires.
Next vehicle has to fit into a garage with 7' garage doors when we downsize (small houses come with small garage doors), since the Hummer needs 8' doors.
I am not a fan of all-electric vehicles, like the Hummer EV. And it is ever larger than the H2, so no bueno. And I am not a patient man to sit somewhere for hours charging at a highway stop. Time is money.
And I see that there are few fans of the new Hummer EV. They are now sitting all over dealer lots in multiples, and dealers are offering discounts to unload them.
Not surprising. The ones who wanted one already got one, and the rest of the people putting their names on waiting lists were just posers.
So we are stuck in limbo, until something better comes along that is new enough that I do not have to wrench on, or hunt for rare or non-existent parts.
If anyone reading this has any ideas, I would welcome them.
For those who looked at but hesitated to buy my vehicle, they lost out bigtime. The lucky buyer was also given an opportunity to get a giant mountain of extra parts I was hoarding over the years, that took up a good chunk of a room. Some uber-rare parts I have never seen offered publicly anywhere. They did, and all parts are now gone.
Enjoy your future endeavors, for every door that closes behind you a dozen will open in front of you. May you path be filled with happiness, good luck with the new wheels you move on to! Hopefully they will bring you the joy and fun your Hummer did! Happy Trails!
