Any suggestions much appreciated👍

Most auto parts stores keep them in stock.

And they're usually made from a pretty soft metal, pretty easy to ruin the threads. The threaded portion in the battery however, is quite stout.

Can't remember the exact size, but it was a standard thread. I'm thinking it might have been 3/8 x 16. I ended up picking up a couple stainless steel bolts of the correct thread, as well as stainless steel nuts and the star lock washers. I cut the heads of the bolts off, creating studs. You can go a lot tighter that way, and no corrosion. I also double nutted it, and use the plastic protector over the nuts on the positive side.

Funny you brought that up... At Carlisle one year with the 65 Vette ... My latching power on battery relay locked on as the coil did not de-energize after the button was released. The Solenoid coil got super hot. I went to disconnect the negative battery terminal except it would not pull off. Tried spreading the terminal but it would not move. So I started twisting the terminal and pulled up. It finally came off. When I looked over at the terminal... It had the Negative battery POST still attached to the terminal. It was a two year old Optima Red Top. Ruined ... Moral...??? Don't over tighten your battery terminals.
