Unhappy Back Up Light Socket - Problem

Hey all,
I'm pretty sure my passenger side back up light socket needs to be replaced. I cannot find one that is a two-tap pigtail that accommodates the 3156 bulb for my 2005 Hummer h2.

If anyone knows where to get these sockets, let me know

Note, bulb works, socket meters perfectly when put in reverse, but bulb will not light up whether it is a new bulb or old.
I tried added wires to the connector, then attaching them to the bulb, no bueno.
I think there is a short within the socket that created a direct connection therefore bypassing the bulb.

You might have to replace the whole housing. There's several aftermarket options out there. Amazon carries them.

Recently put these on my 2003 as mine were leaking really bad. Quality is actually better than stock.

Ahhh ..... Just realized you need the sockets. I would bet it probably uses the same bulb sockets as the Tahoe.

was looking around and GM doesn't do a good job with their diagrams in the parts lookup department
it does show the harness plug and the socket as two separate parts, have you taken yours apart and verified if so?
I'm surprised they use a 3157 dual element bulb for the reverse light, not sure why they would.

.... And I think the reason for the reverse light having three wires.... Ever notice when you unlock the vehicle, the backup lights also light up? Just a guess.

I would bet that most auto parts stores carry the GM sockets you need....

I found a used wiring harness on Ebay that was tested to work. It came with the complete harness, all sockets and even bulbs.
Everything is good once again.

I hear Parts stories like that all the time.... It's either eBay or Amazon that saves the day. Since I am into Electronics Repair on Vintage Audio gear, there are no new parts available. First stop is eBay....Second Is Google who will direct you to somebody or somewhere. Then... If not a Custom part it's Amazon.

You have to wonder..How did we survive in the 60's 70's 80's and halfway thru the 90's till the internet grew and all this crazy parts hunt started.

Oh.. I forgot Youtube..LMAO.... Like How to catch a mole in your lawn..LMAO
