Default Automatic rain sensor kit?

One feature that most modern vehicles have, that the Hummer doesn't (as far as I've seen) is automatic rain sensing which responds to rain intensity.

When it rains, I don't know about you, but I find myself constantly adjusting the wiper delay according to the rain intensity.

Most modern cars now come witht rain-sensors which are quite effective or less annoying, depending on the make of car.

So by way of a feasibility study I have a few questions for you Hummer enthusiasts out there:-
  • Does anyone know of an aftermarket rain-sensor kit?
  • Is it something that you would like or would buy at the right price?
Having looked at the Hummer wiring in depth, it looks very possible to do and with the right technology would require no wiring changes to the wiper system.

Of course a rain-sensor would need to be fitted and possibly wired-in (but could be battery operated). There would also need to be a change to the wiper motor (not the wiring), but no other wiring changes, no additional switches or controls.

It would fully integrate with the current Multifunction Lever controls, with the 1st delay setting becoming "Auto" or retained as-is if the rain-sensor is deactivated.

Please let me know your thoughts and comments on this, any suggestions would be very much appreciated even if its "don't bother"

Our two daily drivers have the rain sensing wipers and your right, it's a very nice feature. I don't drive my H2 enough to warrant an upgrade like that, although I did do the heated washer fluid. I would think the market for a universal kit for all makes of vehicles would be a money maker.

some 07 and up chevy suburbans had the rain sensor glued to the glass near the rear view mirror it had a cutout in the black tint there for it. so there should be diagrams available for it.

Icy windshields are quite common during the Kansas winter and it works amazingly well, my limited edition H2 came factory with the heated fluid, GM had a recall to remove that option and gave me $100. I purchased an updated kit from the OE manufactuer and installed it myself. It bugged me having an unused button on the dash.
