Default AC controls question and for GM Tech 2 users

Trying to figure out if this is normal or a problem and if GM tech2 can change it.

The A/C systems outside air door (above blower motor passenger side) on my 06 H2 is normally open and opens when power is turned off or vehicle is turned off. I would like it closed at all time except when i push the button at least that is what i would think is normal operation. Now compared to other H2’s what is normal operation? And about GM Tech2 can this default be changed??

Thanks for any input
Sam

Normal position is open to the outside (not re-circulation of inside air)

Try setting your driver presets with the AC in the re-circulation mode and see if it will save it. I'm not sure what year they included the AC settings with the driver presets, my 08 does. My 03 Denali also saves the AC settings along with peddle positions, seat settings and mirror settings.

I don't know if the Tech2 can change this in the calibration, if its not a standard calibration from GM then the Tech2 will not do it.

Description of Re-circulation Operation (this is for the 08, I don't think it changed from the 06)

Recirculation Operation

The HVAC control module controls the air intake through the recirculation actuator. The recirculation switch closes the recirculation door in order to circulate the air within the vehicle. The outside air switch opens the recirculation door in order to route outside air into the vehicle. Regardless of the blower motor switch position, recirculation is available only in the panel and bi-level mode switch positions. The mode switch must be placed in either the panel or bi-level position and the recirculation switch pressed before the blower motor switch is placed in the OFF position to achieve recirculation with the blower in the OFF position. In order to reduce windshield fogging, outside air is circulated when the mode switch is in the defrost or defog positions. If the recirculation switch is pressed into the ON position when the mode switch is in an unavailable mode position, then the recirculation switch LED will flash 3 times. If the HVAC control module detects a fault with the recirculation door the HVAC control module will try to drive the actuator for a predetermined amount of time, to outside air, which is the defaulted position for the recirculation actuator.

reading through this you may be able to do it by placing it in recirculate and then turning the system off, then turning the truck off

Thanks for the Info Neal, I will try it once i replace the blower motor it failed and by looking it has taken plenty of water/moisture and dust. imo from this door being open 24/7, so i will order a blower motor the cabin air filter and the filter access cover. since i need to reclean the coils and better this time hopefully with that access.

I have tried both of these. The first one doesn't work at all for the H2. The 2nd does work, but the fidelity in which the blower operates is not the same as that of the OEM. Also, with the 2nd one, you will need to splice your factory wiring or purchase an OEM plug off of eBay : https://www.ebay.com/itm/03-06-Humme...gAAOSw2xJea5zO
