your transmission will not like that much. it does not like to be left out of the party.

Had my Transmission rebuilt with all HD parts, same as the ones in the corvette, 32,000 miles so far, runs at 85 mph daily…

The 6L80E in the 2008's and 09's are pretty stout. But when you add any kind of supercharging you have to do the rest to do it right.. That includes the Fuel System Mod's and maybe injector change outs. Then you come to the 6L80E. My thing is if I'm going to supercharge...then I'm going to Mod the Tranny and the rest of the drive line. Just the way I Would do it.

Bitchen Rides did an episode where they did an H2 for a Customer. They did body mods and inside mods and did a rebuild on the motor and tranny with super charger. The customer must have spent some Big Bucks. It was sweet. The thing to remember.... when you pressurize the motor you stress the piston rings and and what follows is faster engine ware as well as oil consumption.

Just my $.02 Worth..

The Magnacharger kit is the way to go. It comes with beefy injectors and a fuel rail too. 6-7lbs of boost from the magnacharger is a nice boost in performance and is nothing for this motor in terms of reliability. LS's will sit very happy for multiple hundreds of thousands of miles at 6lbs of boost.
My 08 with the magnacharger was definitely worth it. My trans was replaced with a factory reman unit at the dealer at 90k miles(it was having issues a long time before the supercharger was added) and I have put 40k miles on that trans without issue and I am hard on my stuff. This truck tows, sits in atlanta traffic daily, and goes offroad and hasn't had any issues. The 6l80 has been updated a lot since the h2 came out and they seem to be a bit better.

Just make sure you upgrade the transmission cooler and bypass the radiator. The factory setup has it running way too hot. I've seen up to 230 in traffic on a hot day.

Have to echo Gavin's recommendation of the addition of a supercharger. Without a doubt the best bang for the buck and the least amount of work, bolt on and go for the most part.

Be nice to the trans though and considering you have a 4x60/65 start saving or planning on an upgraded unit especially if its long in the tooth.

Another consider is premium fuel (all the time) no more regular and no more the 10% ethenol blend. Otherwise you might need octane boosters depending on the boost you use.
As far as the rest of the drive train H2 diffs are decent. The rear AM general SF14 is strong and the torque split used on the transfer case should keep you out of trouble.

Decide what you want to do with the truck and that will tell you what to do.
Low RPM grunt, pulling, and around town, supercharger is the way to go
Like to hear it spin, pull up in the higher RPM's, cam, convertor, headers/exhaust, gears
6L80 is good if tuned correctly, if not will not last long

all in what you want to do with it,

Neal
