2008-2009 H2 Rear Brake Lines - Question: What is Crumbling Off of Mine?
On my 08 H2, the rear brake lines have a yellowish/translucent tube in spots that is slowly crumbling off.
Questions:
What is the purpose?
Is this something to be concerned about?
Here is what they look like on a low miles pristine H2 - they cover part of the brake line, but not the entirely... they appear just in certain points on the brake lines....
Here is that same line on my H2... Each year I find bits on the garage floor...

That's the E(for Emergency)BRAKE: A.K.A PARKING BRAKE CABLE!
Slim chances of that original cable working after 20yrs which may work however not release!
Maintenance is the key to NEVER have to apply the EMERGENCY BRAKE!
Yep, Just some protection for the line for rubbing. I wish they would have put some of that chit around the whole roof to prevent leaks. But Noooooooooooooooo.... Don't make no never mind if the customer gets wet or the side airbag gets moldy.
