2007 H2 SE Restoration
Restoration project continues. Just bought new:
L & R side OEM Special Edition Rock Rails (old ones are rusty and are for sale now).
Front OEM e-coated metal bumper with clear wrap to protect from stone chips
Entire new OEM air ride assembly.
One new air shock
New spare tire carrier cover
LED driving lights
LED headlights
Found new long-discontinued OEM chrome hood latches on eBay (+ bought extra set to futureproof).
New OEM driving light housing
Last Special Edition roof light bar bulb in existence from GM Vintage Parts
New OEM windshield
re-chromed one rear tow loop
4 new Special Edition side steps (that attach to rock rail).
Full paint correction + sealer, including roof (my arm still hurts from the 2-day ordeal).
This vehicle will be as-new once completed.
Work and $$ continues, but still cheaper than just the tax on a new Bronco or V8 Defender replacement.

Thanks Hummerz.
I figured I might as well let everyone left on this forum know what I am doing.
Not many of us left
I had to make a decision to throw $$ at this beast, or move on to anther vehicle.
I looked at the alternatives, but none were as cool as an H2. All too boring.
Hopefully it may inspire others to restore their H2.
The few I see around here are really beat up now and not getting any love.
PS. Wheels corrode here every 3 years in the rainy Pacific NW, and the ones on the rig are the 3rd set.
They are now discontinued as well, so these will be shipped to California to get "winterchrome" once the border opens up.
That should end the endless swapping out of wheels to keep them without chrome peel.
Anything aluminum that is chromed here does not last long in the moist air.

This gives me hope! I've wanted one since they first came out, and just picked up a 2008 H2. It's in pretty decent shape, but it lived on a dirt road and has never been garaged. Needs some TLC and I intend on doing just that - I just hope I can get mine restored to look as good as yours!
