this is def not exhaust bolts. I have same noise in my 08. I also changed my exhaust bolts to studs due to an exhaust leak. It is def a piston slap I am told by my friend who is an excellent mechanic. If you warm up the truck for 10 minutes you will never hear the piston slap and that is what i do.

20ish is low. Check your engine oil:

The 08-09 H2's fluctuate bet 25-50 or so. perfectly normal unlike the 03-07 models which should stay around 35-40.

That is what I am thinking. Especially since I drove 2 that did the same exact thing. One with 85k miles and the other with 185k.
