'06 H2 Power steering pump replacement
Just had to replace my power steering pump and went with the PSC HD pump I found recommended in a old thread from a few years back. Must say so far I'm impressed. Just running 37's but turns sitting with no effort where old pump you knew you were meeting resistance. Brakes- still un decided if it really helped but definitely did not hurt braking performance. I still think the brakes suck on a H2. I have all new SS lines, new stock calipers, new rotors, etc and fully flushed with Syn brake fluid. Wish I'd done something different when replacing all that but don't know what I could of done to really make a improvement. Pump replacement went great and cleaned/wire wheeled the alum pump/alternator bracket, painted pully and flushed the system. Key is remove alternator then remove the alum bracket with pump on it. I left pressure line to HydraBoost pump on it but loose and snaked it out from other lines congestion. Went back same way, had that line attached but loose. To me it was easier that way than trying to attach it in tight quarters from below. 3 quarts of fluid flushed the HydraBoost and gear box and topped the system off to proper level.. PSC great experience ordering and pump showed up in 3 days also was cheaper than AC/Delco. Great service.
