Default 05H2 - time for new exhaust

About to replace the old Swiss cheese muffler and piping. Went with the cheaper Walker brand. Will be fun to work, looks like everything is in one piece from mid pipe to tail pipe. I’ll post progress pics and some part numbers. Happy weekend.

Careful of the factory one, it weighs 10 tons!

Will update soon. Caught the covid right as I was about to start the work and was sick as a dog. Still have side effects. Almost through it though. Will definitely update with some pics.

Hope you feel better. Needing to replace mine ('03) now as well. Trying to find a reputable mechanic. Any idea how much I should expect to pay?

Done and done. It was a pain to cut by hand. Took me a few hrs it seems. Re install took less than 15 mins total. Drives better too.

original was way bigger than the replacement but not a bad fit.

thank you feeling way better. I’m not sure how much exactly it would be at a shop by I’m sure it’s $$$ when they see a H2 pull up. I would guess $1200 plus for what I have replaced (muffler, tail pipe and mid pipes). I think I paid less that 350 for all the parts. Best would be to get a few quotes from different shops.

Yeah, I need to do some exhaust work on my ‘03. New manifold heat shields, weld the cracks on the muffler heat shield (or ditch the thing, it buzzes badly at idle), drop the gas tank and replace the fuel pump assy and figure where fuel smell is coming from. Maybe need to replace some hoses on the top of tank. Wife just filled up, now doesn’t want to drive it any distance.
