Hummer H2For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.
I know talking about shocks isn’t unknown for the H2.
I’ve a ‘08 H2 with Nitto Ridge Grappler LY325/50T22.
I used 1” spacers front and rear to make it look good.
I still have a minor rubbing in the front only when I back up with a sharp turn.
Now I don’t want to lift it 3” is the minimum I can do but I think imo it takes away from the original look.
Thinking I can upgrade maybe the shocks that maybe can give me a inch or so that should be enough.
So with what type/kind of shocks you guys recommend?
Btw, yes the H2 is leveled a little again I could get her up more but I care about the look it has now.
Thanks in advance and all best blessed wishes for 2025.
If you can stomach the price Fox or Bilstein remote reservoir shocks I think are the best for the H2 and for a drop in price but very good shock are the monotube in the same brands.
I installed the Bilstein's on my 08, the ride is much improved.

Thanks bro,
I got fox now but not the remote reservoir type.
Will they bring the body up a little you think.
I hate do to a lift as it looks stupid on the H2.
The Bilstein's are charged (had a heck of a time getting them in) but I don't think they will raise the body or at least they don't appear to have raised mine much if any.
The front is easy to raise with the torsion bars, you can raise it as much or as little as you want. For the rear you can get spring spacers in 1/2" increments if I remember correctly, I had 2" spacers on the back of mine and lowered it down with 1 1/2" spacers for a more leveled look.

Thanks for the info.
The more info I gather the more it will tells me that just upgrading the shocks it won’t give me the 1” results I’m looking for.
On a other note, have you heard or seen something about a adjustable level kit that can get me the 1” clearance?

I had my truck leveled at the dealership when we bought the new h2 in 2004, the alignment technician said now you can run 37 inch tires on your vehicle if you want, after measuring a different H2 I noticed it raised the front of the h2, 3 1/2 inch’s, each time I went to buy new tires and inquiry of the 37” they said I had to have a 3 inch lift kit to do that, so when I took my truck to a different tire dealer he said let’s try it, he had 37” Toyo M/T in stock and we replaced them, works Great, no rubbing, except on full lock turns, don’t usually do that….lol…..doesn’t bottom out when off-roading ,looks fantastic and drives great in the rain…all stock, even the stock HD shocks….
