Hummer H1 blowing fuel pump/pcm fuse
Excuse my inexperience if I’m posting wrong, if so please direct me to correct area , THANKS !!
could use some ideas, fuel pump/pcm fuse blows after 5 to 30 seconds after start up. I can’t locate anything in depth on this so any ideas are much appreciated.
02 H1, 25k miles. Have check engine light on, ABS, and TT4 all lit up on dash.
code reader has PO380 trouble code , glow plug/heater circuit A.
just put new GM lift pump on and changed fuel filter at firewall, still blows. I pulled doghouse off to track a bad vac line from climate control to heater control valve and repaired. In re assembly, (may be coincidence) it’s blowing fuse. I’m pulling doghouse back off and checking all screws incase I shorted something now but all looks good. Any ideas would be wonderful.
thanks,
SC

I just posted on two other "hummer shutting off" threads. Trace the fuel line. Sounds like the hummer has sat for a long time. It might be blowing the fuse as the pump is working too hard. Check to see if the the fuel line is clogged or crimped.
Guess I should have posted what I found to help others. I changed filters thinking same thing, blew out lines all good. Not straining to pump, still blowing fuse. In tracing individual wire of everything connect to pump/ ecm fuse after several days, led me back to rear area of truck where fuel selector solenoid located, unplugged it, fuse dosent blow ! Plugged back in, immediately blew. Unplugged, hit with screwdriver really hard couple times, plugged back in, didn’t blow but can’t switch tanks now, so got new part, just lost momentum with it. Will jump back on it when weather warms. It’s just beat me up with several odd and intermittent problems that have kicked my tail. Thanks for your reply and I hope this helps the next guy !!!
