I originally posted this in the H3 section, but only got two responses so I figured opening the question to a larger audience might generate more insight:

We just put brand new Duratrac's on our H3 and now have five Firestone Destination M/T 285 75/R16 tires that I'd like to sell. I'm curious what a reasonable price would be for these used tires. Part of the reason we bought brand new tires is because we missed having the old ones rotated for far too long and the tread wore unevenly between front and back sets. One is brand new (spare) and then two are at 7/32 and two at 3/32.

Since the spare is brand new and goes for about $230 in the store, I thought I would ask $400 for all five. Does that sound reasonable given that two of the tires are nearing end of life?

There's a used tire shop by me that sells sets recovered from wrecks and they usually get between $25-$50 a tire depending on wear. My guess is you may be able to sell the spare to someone looking for that particular tire if they need a match otherwise your probably looking at $150-$200 max. If someone was going to pay ypu what it's worth they would buy new and get a warranty. Advertise them on Craig's List an see what you get.

As mentioned in your other post: Sell the spare by itself and scrap the others. Most tire shops will not install used tires with less that 6/32 of tread due to liability issues.
