Thought they did a pretty good job not leaking this. It has some nice features. But the cost. 112k starting in late '21. And then 90k for 625hp dual motor with 300 mile range. Dual motor Cybertruck for 50k. It sort of looks like a more Hummer-ish GMC truck. It's not bad. I'll be able to afford one in 20 years. Looking forward to seeing the SUV version. I can't see this selling great at these prices. It's basically model X territory. Don't see many of those around.

After seeing more details about the new hummer vehicles, I'm changing my mind, they look great. Now as far as price is concerned, not sure I could or would shell out 100k plus. That must be some experience though, 1000 horses and a ton of torque, wow.

Now that I see it on GMC's site, it's pretty awesome. I don't like the pickup bed or the white color though. Starting at 112k I wouldn't buy one lol. The reservations are already sold out though, so there seems to be a lot of interest

Probably only selling 500 at most first year. The 1000hp tri-motor is for the 112k version only and then 100k for 800hp, 625 for dual motor versions. Basically 4 model ranges 80k, 90k, 100k and 112k. 20 years later with inflation I think they over-did it. I ran a quick inflation calculator on 50k in 2003 vs 2020 and it comes up to 70k. Of course this is also about early adoption of electric too which comes with a premium cost as well as a lot more technology tricks than ever before.

Looks like they cheated on the width a little like on the H3 and used some fender flair to get the 35x12" tires under the body. I would have preferred the H2 method of less fender and more body. As a result it looks too skinny for a HUMMER. Also note there doesn't appear to be a front receiver hitch, unless it's behind a removable panel. It has 3 windshield wipers. And the one thing that hurts electric over ICE-power is range under load. These offer up to 350 miles of range and that's likely not with towing. Which means you'll only get 1/4 of that range with a big load. These trucks need massive amounts of juice to match what a typical ICE-powered truck can offer. They would need something like 750-1000 mile range to get 250 miles of tow-range. And the battery on this HUMMER is massive, twice what the Model X has already.

The interior has moon-related styling. The boot-print on the driver's side. It's an awesome interior. The open air top is really cool but that likely means no roof rack. But the bed plus frunck you wouldn't need the space as much. SUV version I wonder if it will have the open top.

Going to have to sell more than 500 just to cover the advertising costs.

"GM President Mark Reuss said Wednesday morning that the automaker expects the GMC Hummer EV SUT to be profitable from the start of production. GMC Vice President Duncan Aldred said Wednesday that reservations for the first-year of production for the Hummer EV “Edition 1” models sold out within the first 10 minutes of taking $100 deposits after the vehicle’s unveiling Tuesday night. He declined to disclose how many reservations were taken.

“We’ve got several thousand people on a wait list for that first-edition vehicle. We’re not going to reveal the overall number of reservations we got at this point but suffice to say we had an incredible response last night,” he said during an online media briefing."

I doubt it's more than 500 if they only had several thousand on a wait list. The reason being, it's first year. They have to get retooled for it, engineering mistakes and so on as they move the first few down the line. It will be a slower process with a new vehicle like this. It could be more probably not more than 1k, they're not saying but I seriously doubt they're profitable the first year. They spent what was it 5 million on Superbowl ad alone? Plus World Series ad. They should take a number from Tesla and not advertise at all or just online advertising. These aren't going to sell in big numbers anyway at least not at this pricing.

Oh and the Cybertruck had like 146k reservations on first day. That's probably why they're not saying because they only had like 2-3k first day. They're priced it twice what the Cybertruck is so no wonder. You can get a dual motor Cybertruck for 50k. And Rivian is supposed to be around there too. They are making a mistake with pricing. HUMMER is a premium brand but come on. 80-112k? The Cybertruck looks pretty comparable with 16" of ground clearance and 35" tires. Plus dent-resistant body.
