RE: Be nice, I'm a noob
I thought a "Stud" was part of a wall which held up a house.
I am going out on a limb here, but the dyno issue is because of the AWD on H3 and realy never disengages completely. The comments that Doc made are correct, but is also about what you want. I had some people sware that the TBS made power. Intake/Exhaust/PCM could get you to the300 mark on paper. I can assume you want to reach this mark of 300HP without any real modifications, correct, just addons. Note instead of adding up the parts that make the suggested HP to reach your goal, you should add up the cost. Also keep in mind that on average it take a 100 hp to take a second off time. There is only 1 set of headers out there for H3 and the're taking orders. I like to go with ignition (Plugs), and oils first then start adding parts.
Welcome Aboard and enjoy the ride.

ok...sooo...regarding the headers, it is pretty much entirely out of the question. As mentioned there is pretty much only one kind out there - Teakatoys. Well, earlier in this thread I mentioned that they ran about $800. However, LAST NIGHT they upped the price. Not a touch, not a bit, not even a shosh. Oh no, they raised the price 50%!!! These headers, that maybe have $75 of materials in them and appear to be crudly welded in a shade-tree mechanic's shop will now set you set you back $1,200.[:@] Is this place for real?

I've done the Airaid filter, cat-back and PCM tune by pcmforless. There's definitely a power jump but the biggest difference is DRIVEABILITY! The H3 was a bit annoying at first with the shift points, lack of on-ramp acceleration, etc. When I got all three bits, especially the tune, the H3 was much more enjoyable. It's not just about HP and torque, but how you get to use it. [/align]

Those are pretty much the 3 that I have decided to go with right away. I cant believe how cheap those PCMs are! That is pretty much the only annoyance I have to, alrock. The i5 was underpowered on the colorado. Add 1,000 pounds to that and it is even more underpowered.
Dare I ask what brand of each?
I have it narrowed down to these:
CAI - Airraid (though their credibility on the TBS letter has made me doubt them), K&N
Exhaust - Flowmaster, Gibson
PCM - PCMFORLESS!!!!
