Question Electric "Humming" From Passenger Airbag/Dash

Hi all, I own a 2008 Hummer H3 Luxury, and recently I've been experiencing a rather annoying "humming" sound coming from the passenger airbag/dash. If I "smack" the dash/airbag, the humming stops immediately. Also, if I accelerate, the humming gets louder. It's really quite weird. Anyone have any thoughts? Any help would be greatly appreciated - my mechanic had no idea...

Try talking to your H3 in a stern voice when it happens and tell it to behave. Ok, seriously, you may have to take the whole dash apart to find out what bolt or nut has loosened up, mounting tab has cracked/crushed or just plain rubbed. It can be frustrating, but it is something that can be solved with patience. In the old days a business card might be found jammed up in a crevice to take up the space and stop the noises for a while.

Place a zip tie (snug not too tight) around both of the heater core hoses (metal portion closest to the fire wall) in the engine compartment. See if that stops your buzzing.
