2006 H3 Windshield
My H3 has a crack in the windshield on the passenger side in the lower corner. It is about 10 inches long an runs diagonally from edge to edge so it is not going to get worse. It has been this way for a while and i have been putting of having it repaired.
I recall reading something on this forum about more than 1 type of windshield. I also seem to remember someone having trouble with one leaking after a replacement.
I have had the H3 since it was new and plan to keep it so i want replace the glass but would rather live with the crack than end up with a leak. I went to a good shop at a new car dealer where i have done business and they want about $800 for the new glass. Either way i will probably wait until spring, it seems like cold weather is not the best time to seal a new windshield.

I had mine replaced on my 06 three weeks ago for $215 including tax for a nice piece of glass with the factory tinted window strips and everything. That is WAY too high, I called 3 places and the highest one in my area was $320. It has rained for 3 weeks straight, no leaks

My 06 3 received a new windshield roughly a month ago from Techna Auto glass. Paid $165. It has the factory black tint surround and top shade strip. No leaks, no wind noise, but the guy whom installed it left shattered glass particles on my dash, scratched the paint and snapped two cowl clips.
Make sure the people you choose understand the H3's front cowl requires a certain tool to remove the cowl, otherwise there's a good chance they'll snap the clips.

Thanks for all the ideas. As for insurance I have $1000 deductable on comprehensive so I will be paying the bill. I think my estimate was from the most expensive place possible. They have a good reputation but not that good.
