Lots of info. YMMV. I talked to the OP offline and he helped me get mine up and running. OEM Navigation upgrade for GMT800's - PerformanceTrucks.net Forums

I watched it hourly for weeks. Just kept searching a few different part numbers of the units I'd want. Mine hit with a buy it now and I jumped on it. Something about luck is when opportunity, something something. ;-)

A sound store quoted less than 2K to install a brand new touch screen DVD/NAV retaining all the factory features and control... Plus WIFI, BT XM etc and two wireless headrest players in my 03 were gonna bring just over 2G's. I think I'd shop around a little more. If you feel the need to retain Onstar GM will upgrade your system for a few hundred though I feel Onstar should cover that. With all the features of a new sound and alarm system plus BT. You can do way more than onstar except that whole calling the fire department when you've been injured in a crash.

No way in hell I would spend $2k on a head unit and install! I have much better things I could put $2k towards. If I can come across a touch screen factory nav for a decent price that is the route I will go with. Plus I think OnStar is a great feature and have no plans on getting rid of it.

Just won a second revision touchscreen for $187.50!! It needs new buttons but most of the used ones do. Going to order new buttons and a GPS antenna. Also found a guy on ebay which you ship the radio to, they unlock it and run it through a diagnostic test for $80. Cheaper than the dealership but I will still check with them and see what they charge if they'll do it.

LoJac by unlocking you mean matching the radio to your vin # or just unlocking for any truck ?

I'm not sure, they take the passlock off somehow. I'm going to call my local dealership and see if they will do it. I'd rather install the thing and just have the dealership do it but I've been reading that most won't. I'll update here when I get it.

I don't know much about passlock but if it is VIN matched I'm assuming the ebay guy would do that unless it is some type of generic bypass. I'll message him after I speak with my dealership.
