HG, I was originally looking for the trip up to Doc's place but this sounds cool too. Only problem, I can't really do anything until June. And it CAN'T be June 2 (anniversary, don't think my wife would like that). Could you let me know about either one, I need to put in for the time off. Yes, even if it's a weekend I have to put in for it. Thanks

FYI, Actually I just looked at my Training Calander and we have a 4 day weekend May 24-27 for Memorial Day.

 

I've been talking to HummerMike about any conflicts between our little gathering and the club gathering. Apparently the event the club was supposed to do has been rescheduled for that Memorial Day Weekend Sunday.

The only reason I am scheduling something separate is alot of us are more available on Saturday to give us a day to recover before going back to work and it's a much longer drive for us then for the rest of the club that mostly lives in Indiana.

BUT, I have that entire week/weekend off which I just realized, so I may do both weekends. The Illiana Hummer Club one is Sunday, May 25th. I planned the one on the 31rst because that's when Jeremy is available, and I'm hoping Nick/ZYNE may be well enough recovered from his back surgery to come as well, although that is probably not going to happen.

As far as Silver Lake (Doc's outting), I've been asking him for weeks on an update and he hasn't responded to any inquiries about it, so I'm not sure what's going on with that.

In the meantime, I'm going to do more searching and try to plan more outtings. We were talking about doing the Haspin trip, or maybe some other trip and make it a weekend trip, but everybody is on and off and busy with personal things, so it's hard for us to figure things out.

What works best for you? That's quite a drive for you, isn't it?

 

Google says that it is about 4 1/2 hours, Silver Lakes is somewhere around 6 hours. Doesn't really matter where I go, if I ever want to do anything with any of you I'm going to have to drive. Know what I mean. I just need to make the dates work.

 

Well, I can tell you Silver Lake wasn't going to happen until Mid-June/Early July since Doc said that worked better for his schedule. My wife and I are unfortunately not planning any vacations this year so this is as close as we are going to get; going on these excursions.

You will not be dissappointed with the badlands, although you have as long of a drive as Jeremy, so you'd have to make certain you get enough rest the night before. We were all exhausted after our last trip.

Nick just said he's out probably for the rest of the year with off-roading unfortunately. I'm not trying to plan around certain people, but I do want as many of us to go as possible.

The club events get moved around alot, so I'd rather get a small group of us with a definitive date rather then telling non-club members to show up on a certain day and then it's cancelled or moved again.

That being said (wordy, I know), I can tell you 100% I'll be going on the 31rst of May with Jeremy. I'm hoping more people will go from the forum since it's on a Saturday. I'm also hoping Mike will go. If I have to choose between this and the club one, unfortunately i'll do this one because it's easier on me personally. The Sunday thing is just too much driving for one day.

I'll call Jeremy tonight just to make sure the 31rst is a definite, and we'll stick to this date. You are more then welcome to go with the club the weekend before, but I would just feel bad if you planned around that event and it got pushed back or moved again.

Can you make it on the 31rst? It's a Saturday.

 

The wife would probably be the only holdup on that one. I will check with her tonight. As of right now we are not working that day so I could make for that one. Is your wife coming or are you flying Solo? Mine will probably come with me. Right now I can say that it is about 80% yes until I talk with her.

 

Yes she is. She's been promising me for a year now that she'd go on the next Badlands trip, but she's been working 6 days a week since Jan 3rd so it's been a little rough with our time. She'll only be working another week or two so hopefully yes.

There's always a possibility but I would say yes, she's coming.
