Default Original 2003 Hummer H2 BF Goodrich Tires

Hello, everybody!
have set of original BF Goodrich Tires with rims that sitting in my garage for about 6 years, since I bought my Hummer with Toyo Open Country tires on chrome rims on it. BF Goodrich have about 40% thread left on them. My concern is about that these tires are too old(12-13 years old). And I wuold like to install them this winter on my Hummer H2, because winter salt already damaged my chrome rims for several Canadian winters. But I scared to put old BF Goodrich bacause of their age.
What is Your opinion about it.
Thank You.

As long is there is not dry rot or cracking you should be OK. I know a few folks who buy peoples spare tires/wheels off the back of H2's because they go for cheap. Most of those are from 2003-2005.

Since that time I changed my mind and decided do not put those my old original BF Goodrich tires because of their age. They are look like okay: not visible cracks or damage, thread is still not to bed, but my main concern- it's their age! My friend was driving last summer on the highway with his truck and suddenly one of his tires exploded! Hi almost lost control of his car but managed to stir it on the shoulder. His tires were in good shape: a lot of tread left, no visible damages etc. But his tires were 10 years old on that time! And he explained to me recently that inner surface of the tire could be ruined or destroyed because rubber and all those thread bracing layers with long period of time are loosing their ability to stretch and expand and became not enough flexible!. So this is main reason why it happened with his tires. And several guys gave me advice: don't use any tires that 10 years old or older.
So, that's why I gave up with my old 13 years old tires.

The issue With old tires is that even though thay have a lot of tread left the rubber gets hard. This makes them Dangerous to use especially on ice and snow. The BFG ATs are bad Winter tires even when they are New, yes I have tried. Old ones I would use only on dry hard surfaces.
