This is a quick story of my H3 in Lebanon . Had it since 2009 . A 2006 model US import with 62K at the time .
In nine years of ownership , it left me stranded twice with a fuel pump problem . No other major repairs or let downs .
It has now 174K and still going strong with regular 17/18 mpg consumption , ice cold AC , and all working as it should be .
I've been toying with the idea of changing to another 4X4 , but honestly cannot find a worthy replacement .
It's not the most comfortable car , or the fastest , but it always gets you from A to B rain or shine with the minimum fuss .
All so called 4X4's . UTEs , SUVs , cannot match the H3 on several levels .
Here in Lebanon you'll find more H3's and H2's than in any other country in the world except the US of course .
Bottom price for a clean H3 is $15K and goes up to $25K for a late H3T .
I decided to invest some money in giving it a new lease of life coz I'll probably keep it for another year or two ,
so in June I did the following :
New 315/75/16's ( Kumho's ) , new suspension all round , new upper control arms , new rear stabilizer bushing , new pads ,
new battery . new MAF , plugs , change transmission oil and filter , engine oil and filter ( 5W40 Castrol ) , air filter
wheel balancing , new brake oil , new throttle body , new front wheel bearings .
I really think the H3 can go on for another few years , they are this solid , contrary to what some might think .
The only job that I haven't done is fixing the sunroof pipe leak . It will be done before winter .
