What do you feel is reasonably priced? Typically a full set that needs to be stripped and repainted goes for $650 to $800 while an excellent condition set ready to just bolt on sells for $1100 plus.... I dont have a set to sell myself but just throwing the pricing out there as I recently bought a set myself and just want you to have a realistic expectation of what you will have to spend on a set.
I'm looking around $700 on a decent set. There's plenty around for $1000 and up plus shipping, but they're not selling, not even on Ebay. I guess people hang on to them hoping for that home run price because everyone says they're worth $300 each. It took me a year to find my truck, I'm okay with waiting for a set to show up that's in my price range.

Just an FYI, I sell mint steps for $250 each. it is not a home run price because I've sold about 30 sets.
I think the last reasonably priced set that sold was the set I sold about two years ago for $200.00. Hummer parts/accessories have become a rape/pillage/plunder activity. It is supply and demand. There aren't many U-step or marker light sets and a lot of people want them. The market achieves equilibrium. If the sets sell at $1000.00 no one is going to let them go for $700.00. If they aren't selling at that price someone will drop their price until they do sell. Personally I think a lot of this stuff is way overpriced but then I don't want any of it.
^exactly. When I bought my 6 U steps (2 extras) I would pay no more than $100/step. This was obviously many years back. Now, upwards of $1k for a set seems to be pretty typical. They are sought after pieces and no one is going to give them up unless the price is right.
Ay look fellas, I'm not trying to make anyone mad or make them feel like they need to defend any certain price. This is an overland build that's going to require a sizable cash outlay. Removable OEM steps are on my wish list, but I'm still trying to buy major components like RTT, freezer, solar, onboard water system, offroad lights etc. I'd LOVE to have it ready for some overlanding adventures this summer, but that will only happen if I can keep the build within my blue collar reality.
