Yes, Another Headlight Question...

I just purchased an 07 H3 Base. So, not only am I new to the forum. I am new to the H3. And, Mine didn't come with a Owners Manual. I have ordered one but haven't received it yet... So, I appologize if I missed this in a previous thread...

The DRL seem to work fine in the day time. But...

As soon as it starts to get dark. The headlights turn off. To get the headlights to turn on, in the dark. I need to turn the switch from AUTO to ON.

The Sensor seems to be clear and the windshield is OEM (no tint).

Any ideas are appreciated...

Just so I understand this,
If you turn ignition on in the vehicle and it is dark outside, do any headlights come on ?

DRL's are actually the headlights run at lower voltage. If you were to start the vehicle during the day, the DRL's should come on (unless you remove fuse #39) and stay on until it starts getting dark and then headlights (DRL's) should go to full brightness, until you turn off vehicle

It sounds like you have voltage going to headlights
It also seems like the light switch is working, since you can turn switch to ON and headlights turn on.
Have there been any changes to any wiring ? Are headlights stock and not HID "kits" or any kind of aftermarket headlight system?

That is correct. The headlights work, as I think they should, during the daylight. With the headlights on. But, as soon as it gets dark. They turn off, while driving. Or, if I start it in the dark they do not turn on. Interior dash lights seem to be working fine.

I also noticed the fog lights do not work in DRL mode. But, if I leave the switch on, they will come on when the DRL's switch off, and the headlights go out.

The only modifications I can find so far, is a remote start.
I hate not knowing the History of this vehicle. It could be anything...

Thanks again for any suggestions you all can offer...

It would be impossible to diagnose this peculiar problem here in a forum.
Perhaps the seller of this vehicle could answer some of your questions.
He must have experienced the same problems. I can't imagine they just started happening after you bought this vehicle.
If he installed remote start he could have changed some of the wiring that effects your headlights

You may have to take it to the dealer who could run some tests and help diagnose this problem.

Have you had any codes show in the DIC ? And if so what are they ?
