I saw this post and immediately knew it's an 06.
Your plastic shift fork is broken. The code it throw's is: "Ok, finally got my truck to kick out of 4w high lock, by backing up and turning the wheel in neutral, but now it will not stay in 4wd, after hitting a small bump in the road, it kicks back into 4 wheel high lock" |
I'm in the h3 thread, correct?? It is a 2006 H3

Not the shift fork.. Mechanic just called..something to do with a hub? Anyway they are ordering new one

Hmm...I don't know about that. Good luck. |
When this happens it is almost always the fork or the hub/ sleeve, could be other stuff naturally. They are all mostly the same.
"The lock sleeve must move,by itself? No fork, broken fork. Bad wires could not activate the motor unless told to by the control" The fork runs in a groove in the lock sleeve. If the fork is good, the sleeve must have lost part of the groove. We would love to see the bad part pictures. The sleeve locks the main shaft to the front drive chain gear. Iwould insist on a new fork. |
I will def see if the mechanic will let me get pictures, I will like to see it for myself

ok, it was the lock sleeve, andd they also replaced the shift fork with a metal one, I finally get it back tomorrow!
