Default Wiring yellow parking lights as DRL's

I know it's a matter of personal taste, but, I like the looks of the yellow parking lights for 'daytime running lights', (like the early '06's), as opposed to the dimmed headlights like my '08 Alpha has. As an added bonus, this will increase the life span of my upgraded halogen headlights. I tried to run a jumper from the DRL relay trigger terminal #86, to the Parking Lamp relay trigger terminal #86, and then figured I'd remove the DRL relay, and I would be set. But.... I fried something in the Body Control Module, and my Parking Lights, Side Marker lights, and Tailights, all quit working. I went to the dealership, and they replaced the BCM under warranty. I talked to the mechanic, told him what I wanted to do, and after reviewing the service manual, said he could do it for me, and it would take about an hour, and $100. Anybody out there know how to do this? I could use the 100 bucks for some other upgrades. thx!

I'm gonna say... spend the $100 and be hassle/worry free.

sell something on ebay to make up the $100, some things are just better left to the dealership, until you can a hold of the information

Default if your not absolutly positively sure,,,

i hobby with electronics, microcontrollers, pic chips etc and learned a long time ago to NEVER start with a piece of wire!! if i want to test something i use a resistor that will do something BUT will not allow enough current to smoke stuff. as we learn in elex, transistors and ic chips run on smoke as a secret ingredient, when you let it out , they quit working!!
some time a diode is needed to prevent current from going the wrong way, or make it go only one way but you must be absolutly sure, or dont do it.
