Windshield Chips
I have had two chips in the last 3 weeks. With only 5000 miles on mine it does not seem to be a good percentage. I believe it is because the windshield is so straight. Has anyone else encountered this? We have a lot of trucks on our roads and may be unavoidable. Just curious?

It took me less than 24 hours to get my first chip. Vertical windshields will generally get more chips and cracks than angled windshields. Check out all the delivery vans/trucks when you drive around and you'll notice lots of cracked windshields.
It took me three weeks to get my second chip.

With so many semi's on the road now it's no small wonder we don't all havethem. Glass chips are easily repaired by a glass repair shop.Check with your insurance company first, they will usually waive the comprehensive deductible to repair a windshield versus replacing it (each is different though).

Hi Tina, no slam against semi's at all I love the Peterbilt. It's just in Texas the rock haulers and others are bad about not covering their loads. I avoid them as much as I can, had two windshields replaced before on other vehicles.
