Whens the best time to buy an 08?
I have a few options here...
1. I bite the bullet and order the Alpha now in which I would have to use a bit of my savings...
2. I wait until I get my bonus at work. I could couple this with thetrade-in to get payments down, BUTthis could come anytime between now andFebruary so I would have to wait longer.
3. I wait until the end of the year to see the cheaper '08 financing options and to seethe '09 revisions, along with new model year feedback.
*If I buy now, I would have to hold off on a few accessories that I wanted on it. But then again, they do have $1000 Cash back towards accessories right?
*Is o% financing only good for '07?
I appreciate any advice you have from your purchase experiances...
*EDIT* - I'm only considering an Alpha at this time and only as a buy. Lease doesn't interest me.

You never know but I would expect additional financing deals in the next few months. If you can buy off the lot the dealership will usually sweeten the deal some also. If you can wait for the 2009 model you have more patience and willpower than most.
Best time to buy any car is at the end of the model year (septemberish..)
However, I do agree with the post above. GM as Ford and other makes will need to do some special dancing early next year to move vehicles and it will get better as the year goes. As gas goes up, sales go down and inventory piles up equates to best customer "no hassle" deals. I read an article that manufacturers have gotten better and learned their lessons from the employee discount to all days. They are now better at controlling inventory, and will probably lean more to rebates, discounts and financing rather than employee pricing. So I would not expect that type of scenerio again.
Now if your like me, I am impatient and bought mine in November. I just wanted it already, and am very happy. Plus got it under invoice. You can always get a good deal any time of the year, but it takes work and some time. I had to shop around and numerous dealers said no, but there is always someone that will take your deal. At the end to my surprise it was my local dealer.
Good Luck

Buy it now!! Borrow from your savings (if necessary) and replenish your savings when bonus comes in. But then again, if youwould really consider waiting until July-August of '08 for '09 info, you don't really want one very bad anyway -- why not just wait until the end of '09 for '10 info. j/k
fyi - there's actually a $2500 total rebate on 08 purchases ($3250 on smart buy). this came straight from the dealer's mouth. also, keep in mind that, even though financing may blow, its the end of the year. dealers are more willing to negotiate price as they not only have to worry about monthly #s, butannual #s. plus, sales people want to sell as much as they can right now to get a nice holiday bonus.
hopefullythis will help your decision. i'm buying this weekend or next week, but mine's out of necessity since i lost my only ride last month.
