I ran a couple a tanks of 93 in mine and then a tank of 87 and can't notice a single difference besides its cheaper to run 87.

I mean we get 10mpg lol, and unless you have performance upgrades that would requirer high octane fuel I do not see a reason to run elevated octane fuel.

When I do my first oil change I am going to switch it over to Royal Purple and also do a tank of fuel additive, probably sea foam, and high octane( to keep the lines flushed) and probably keep that up every oil change.

Chevron Techron or BG 44K is superior to seafoam.

Are there any studies to back this up?

I only ask because I worked with Chevron for 5 years offshore on a Hurricane Restoration Project and I specifically asked one of the reps about Techron. His response was that its the same as the other fuels such as Shell, BP, or Valero its just that they call their additive by that trade name while the others use different trade names for the same additive.

I would be more than happy to see a report on this though if you have one readily available.

Only Chevron Supreme. Unfortunately I can't get any higher than 91 Octane here In My area of Los Angeles.
Magnusson recommends Minimum of 92 after the blower conversion but I can't find any 92 here.
