what psi to run in 35s
 

Have a 06 with some new Toyo M/T 315/75/16 looking to see what other people are running tire pressure in their 35s

I run 32psi in mine

yea. the tire shop likes to run 40-45 in mine. I have to tell them what psi I want.

Drop until the TPMS says "Low Tire", then go up 3 PSI

40 to 45 is way too high with tires that big. When you have that high psi in those tires you will wear out the middle part of the tire tread because it balloons out, so you will prematurely wear them out. Having a lower pressure will ensure that the whole surface of the tire touches the ground evenly. We keep ours just a couple pounds higher than the tpm on the hummer. I keep my 33's at about 30 on my cherokee. They last so much longer that way, and make sure to rotate consistently.

Would 42 psi on 35in tires be too much cause i notice extra wear on the edges when i had 35 psi i just got my tires Nitto Trail Grapplers about a month ago n i would love to perserve them as long as possible, i mainly do street driving. Im new too having this kinda of size tire the truck originally had mickey thomson mtz on same size but they were very worn out n they had 38 psi

I run the same tire, and they haven't worn much at all. I have 25k on them.just run what you feel comfortable with, but mine rides so much nicer at 32 than 40

This is how I so it.

Chalk the tires (about a 2" wide line all the way across the tread) at 36-37psi drive in a stright line for about 100 ft. Check the chalk and see if the chalk is worn off to almost the edges of the tire. If not rechalk and try it a few psi lower. Keep it up until you get even wear of the chalk line.

Remember this only works with your rig aligned properly!

Would love to hear some recommendations on 33" tyres as well.

Have just fitted 285/70-16 Mud tyres and the car seems to ride more harshly, not sure what the tyre shop put in them, will check but what do people run in them??
